摘要：
Today, the assessment of arterial stiffness experiences more and more clinical valuation. The measured parameters (pulse wave velocity, augmentation index and central pulse pressure) are very important in pathophysiological terms and share independent prognostic value. The assessment of these parameters helps to identify and stratify patients with a high risk for future cardiovascular events. The impact of the modification of arterial stiffness requires further research today as well as in the future.
