摘要
Background. The authors present their own experience in treatment of blunt hepatic u a in children. Material and methods. The authors analysed; number, sex and age of children, mechanism of trauma, degree of liver injury, coexisting injuries, applied treatment and its results. Results. In the Department of Paediatric Surgery and Oncology Medical University of Lodz from 2012 the authors treated 8 patients with blunt hepatic trauma. The main cause of trauma was a traffic accident. Seven patients were treated conservatively, while one of them was operated on. Therapeutic results were good in all children. Conclusions. 1. The choice of the method of management in hepatic trauma should be based on hemodynamic state of patients, the degree of liver injury and coexisting injuries. 2. Majority of blunt liver injuries can be treated non-operatively. 3. Use of criterions and scales applied for adults with blunt liver injury is also useful in children.
