Analysis of the Socio-Demographic and Competitive Profile of Spanish Adventure Raids practitioners

This study is part of a doctoral thesis, which aims to determine the socio-demographic and sports profile of the Spanish participants in Raids. The sample chosen were participants in the Spanish League of Adventure Sports 2004 (LEDA 2004), selecting four disciplines. The tool used to collect information was a questionnaire already used for the briefing. The work plan is non-experimental, descriptive and sectional. In order to correlate the variables we used the Spearman Rho and Cronbach's Coefficient Alpha. To obtain the results we used descriptive statistics on our variables. Results reveal that the main profile corresponds to single men, 26-30 years age, professionals or teachers in the Physical Education field. College graduates, sports club members, and competing at a national level. Their favorite disciplines are ATB and orienteering courses, daily training, practicing all disciplines for more than two months, atraining indoor and outdoor.
