ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING AND KNOWLEDGE CREATION - IN A PRIVATE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTION

摘要
This process of organizational learning and knowledge creation is examined through Institute Stela, a start-up of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. This single case-study approach is based on qualitative empirical evidence gathered from multiple sources (formal interviews, casual meetings, document analysis and direct observation). Results suggest that a matrix and adhocratic structure is conducive to organizational learning. An organization learns when workers are responsible for a range of tasks that encompass both the research and implementation of the product. This process should be investigated further to other knowledge intensive organizations in a broad range of economic sectors.
