摘要
Dissociation induced by an external strong electromagnetic field has been considered for linear triatomic molecules such as HCN utilizing a model Hamiltonian. The classical dynamics of this model system is shown to include chaotic trajectories. Dissociation probabilities have been calculated as a function of the intensity and the frequency of the external electromagnetic field. The effect of various pulse shapes on the threshold intensity for dissociation has been studied. Sensitivity of the dissociation probabilities with the variation of the isotopic masses has also been demonstrated. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
