JURIDICIALIZATION OF POLITICS IN THE UNITED-STATES

The United States is the home of judicialization or, perhaps more accurately in this case, the juridicalization of politics. American politics has been Constitution-centered from the very beginning, and lawyers play a disproportionate role in political life. This article analyzes the causes, development, and effects of these features. One main theme is, of course, traditional judicial review, but we will also examine the role of the courts as implementers in public affairs. Further administrative judicial review is described and evaluated.
