Decreased susceptibility to antibiotics among Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates in Florianopolis (SC) Brazil

摘要
Antibiotic susceptibility testing was performed on clinical isolates of Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The results obtained were as follows: 14.63% isolates were resistant to ampicillin, 45% to ceftriaxone, 16.67% to erythromycin, 29.27% to penicillin, 78.57% to tetracycline, and none to cefoxitin. Four strains were beta-lactamase producers, corresponding to 9.52% of penicillinase-producing N. gonorrhoeae in the population studied.
