The first part embraces the main factors that have facilitated evaluation its transition from an initial unitary and monolithic activity to other in which prevail the plurality of approaches in evaluation. The objective is to fence the reasons that explain the development of evaluation from a unique rational and positivist evaluation model (also known as classical or traditional model) and has spread its influence to new evaluation models. The following parts of the article focus on the description of some of the most representative evaluation models: evaluation by objectives, under the classical model, and the utilization-focused evaluation model, participative model and the critic perspective.
