IMPACT OF TROPOSPHERIC AEROSOL ON GCA MEAN ZONAL PARAMETERS

Estimates of possible variations in mean zonal parameters of the Earth's GCA due to tropospheric aerosol depending on latitude and season are presented. Calculations are performed for the models of background and arctic aerosol. Reciprocal influence of temperature regime and perturbations in dynamics is taken into account. Numerical experiments show that variations in dynamics due to the presence of aerosol are essential for assessing the total impact of aerosol on climate in all climatic zones. The coupling appears to be particularly strong between variations in thermal regime in high latitudes and those in radiative processes in tropical and middle latitudes due to the presence of aerosol. Fall of temperature in equatorial and middle zones leads to a considerable reduction in transport of sensible and latent heat to high latitudes. Consideration for this factor can even involve the change of sign in temperature response to the presence of tropospheric aerosol in high latitudes.
