Dislocation structures in deformed Zr3Al

Detailed weak beam TEM observations have been performed on polycrystalline Zr3Al deformed at 77K, room temperature and 823K, respectively. We found that APE coupled dislocations lie on {001} planes and stacking faults lie on {111} planes at all three deformation temperatures. The density of stacking faults decreases and that of APE-bounding dislocations increases with increasing temperature. Measuring the dissociation distances allowed us to estimate APE and SISF energies.
