摘要
Mezirow's theory of transformative learning proposes that deep transformations of perspectives occur only when learners are able to reflect critically on the underlying premises of their understandings. This article presents an overview of transformative learning theory and offers a theological reflection rooted in the Christian tradition and, in particular, in Bernard Lonergan's theological anthropology and method. One graduate program in ministry, the Loyola Institute for Ministry Extension program, serves as an example of how transformative learning theory may be applied to adult theological education.
