摘要
The development of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) for a lighter weight car body shell is described in this paper. In order to reduce production cost, pultrusion was evaluated for the production of outside panels. Using the pultruded panels, a six m long full size car body shell was constructed and its strength and rigidity were checked. The strength characteristics at high temperatures of phenol CFRP were also investigated. The CFRP car body shell is realistic in terms of production cost, non-flammability, strength, and rigidity.
