Emmanuel Levinas and Paul Ricoeur: between the asymmetry and symbolic mutual recognition

The aim of this article is to think about responsibility. In this sense, Ricoeur works hard on the idea of ethics. We will analyse its features, considering that the responsibility includes not only the subjectivity but also the otherness. Paul Ricoeur criticises Emmanuel Lvinas's concept of ethics and concludes proposing the ethics of reciprocity or mutuality, as the author named it, that takes place on the mutual recognition.
