THERMAL EFFECTS OF NONEQUILIBRIUM BETA-PROCESSES IN A STRONG MAGNETIC-FIELD

摘要
The thermal energy is estimated which is released by the non-equilibrium beta-capture of ultrarelativistic electrons by nuclei in the partially degenerate matter of equilibrium stars in the quantum limit of the magnetic field frozen-in into their interiors. It is shown that, taking into consideration the influence of the magnetic field on the energy spectrum and density of the number of quantum states of the partially degenerate ultrarelativistic electron gas, the thermal-energy release differs quantitatively from the one due to non-equilibrium beta-capture processes in the matter of degenerate magnetic stars. The limiting temperature is determined, to which can be heated the matter of a partially degenerate magnetic star in the quantum limit of the magnetic field frozen-in into its interiors.
