摘要
Chlamydia trachomatis has a dominant role in causing sexually transmitted diseases. The infection of the cervix is followed by the spread of infection, which can cause pelvic inflammation such as cavity of the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, as well as infection may be asymptomatic. C. trachomatis can cause inflammation of the urethra and bladder. C. trachomatis may be transmitted during birth from an infected mother to newborn and cause conjunctivitis, pharyngitis and pneumonia. In men, complications of urethral infection by C. trachomatis may be inflammation of the prostate, testis and epididymis. The drugs of choice in the treatment of Chlamydia-related genitourinary infections are macrolide antibiotics, tetracyclines and some fluoroquinolones. These drugs are characterized by a high activity in vitro and in vivo, a high concentration in tissues and clinical efficacy.
