PROJECT SCOPE TO CREATE A BUSINESS PLAN

In Brazil, 27% of companies established close down its activities in the first year of existence and 58% by the end of the fifth year. The objectives of the article are: present the composition of a Business Plan through the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure Project), using the standard PMBOK (R) Guide (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and discuss the creation of a Business Plan to increase the probability of success of a new company. The methodology consisted of three steps: literature review, definition of deliverables of a project to create a new business and analysis of the major reasons for the closure of a company in its early years of existence. The results showed that the existence of a Business Plan is not synonymous of success, but it certainly increases the probability of this happening, because the most causes given by the closing of new businesses have been supplied by the preparation of a Business Plan.
