摘要
The present article studies the growth processes, and how the planning and management of public policies had integrated the objectives of development and sustainability in the city of Jundia, emphasizing the environmental conditions for the improvement of the populations' quality of life. A series of actions focusing the concept of sustainability had been identified between the years of 1995 and 2005, period of this study, as well as the waste selective collection, the sewage treatment and the creation, of the River Jundia committee. The city evolution in last the ten years has as its main explanation the investments in infrastructure and strategic planning. This research was based on documents and interviews of public managers, business leaders and leaderships of civil associations that had personal involvement with the city development process during the studied period.
