NEW CLASSIFICATION OF SYMPTOMS IN ENDOCRINE ORBITOPATHY

A proposal for a new classification of symptoms in endocrine orbitopathy is made. Instead of six four groups of symptoms are described (eyelid changes, exophthalmos, eye muscle and optic nerve involvement). Particular stress is laid on the distinction of primary changes and sequelae of certain eye changes e.g. elevated eye pressure which is secondary to a restriction of eye movements.
