ELECTRIC-CONDUCTIVITY OF SOLUTIONS BASED ON THE SODIUM-HYDROXIDE GLYCEROL WATER-SYSTEM

摘要
The electric resistance of sodium hydroxide-glycerol-water and sodium hydroxide-glycerol-lead compound-water solutions at 20-70-degrees-C was measured by an R 5058 alternating-current bridge at 1000 Hz. The conductivities of the sodium hydroxide-water boundary system agreed well with published data. The addition of glycerol to the sodium hydroxide-water solutions led to a significant reduction in the conductivity of the solutions. The temperature dependence of the conductivity is described by the equation kappa = a + bt + ct2. The addition of lead(II) oxide or sulfate to the solutions had little effect on the conductivity of the hydroxide-glycerol aqueous solutions.
