CEMENTING RESIN-BONDED FIXED PARTIAL DENTURES - A SIMPLIFIED TECHNIQUE

Maintaining a dry field is critical during cementation of resin-bonded fixed partial dentures. Contamination of the abutments or prothesis with saliva can result in poor retention. Isolation by means of a rubber dam can be time-consuming and may interfere with complete seating of the prosthesis. Isolation with cotton rolls and a saliva ejector is difficult to maintain and can be easily compromised. This article presents a technique using a modified, custom tray for achieving a dry, isolated field.
