Excess molar volumes VEm were measured as a function of mole fraction x at the temperature 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure for the 16 mixtures {x(C6H5Cl or 1,2-C6H4Cl2 or 1,3-C6H4Cl2 or 1,2,4-C6H3Cl3) + (1 - x)CjH2j+1OH} where j = 1, 2, or 3. A vibrating-tube densimeter (Paar DMA 602) was used to determine the VES. The results are discussed in terms of the relative position of the chloro-groups on the benzene ring and the carbon-chain length of the alkanol. © 1994 Academic Press Ltd.
