摘要
A simple numerical model is outlined for the description of particulate transport in the ''wake'' of falling scavengers toward the ground. The results show that for a homogeneous atmosphere the induced air downdraft can surpass ten percent of the scavenger terminal velocity, if sufficient time is available for developing the air circulation. A significant effect can be expected if the settling scavenger velocity surpasses several m/s. For three different types of scavengers a ''displacement coefficient'' was determined in order to demonstrate the effect of sideward motion of non-spherical scavengers.
