REORIENTATION OF THE HORIZONTAL STRESS SIGMA-1 ALONG STRIKE-SLIP FAULTS - ONE EXAMPLE - THE SINISTRAL NE-SW STRIKE-SLIP FAULTS OF THE UPPER BENUE BASIN (NW NIGERIA)

摘要
A microtectonic study of the brittle microfracturing associated with the major NE-SW faults of the axial zone of the Upper Benue basin was carried out. It shows the different successive sinistral and reverse plays of the NE-SW faults as well as the deflections of the horizontal stress sigma 1 along the main strike-slip fault zones specified as zones of stress regulation.
