摘要
The crystal structure of tetragonal PbTiO3 has been determined by X-ray diffraction techniques up to a pressure of 4.5 GPa at room temperature. Considering the spontaneous polarization to be proportional to the atomic displacements, we find that its dependence on pressure is proportional to that of the spontaneous strain z1/2 = (c/a - 1)1/2, our results confirm an anomaly in the behaviour of the spontaneous polarization, at congruent-to 1.3 GPa, similar to what has been reported for the spontaneous strain.
