摘要
During the Spanish Civil War, both factions used propagandistic theater plays in order to indoctrinate and call up the audience. Up to twenty different plays were performed in Valladolid, a city within the nationalist territory; all of them had a large ideological content and the vast majority were poor-quality comedies advocating the rebel ideology in which the enemy was denigrated with the objective of inflaming the audience. Despite the interest of the authorities, these plays were not as popular among the population as it was expected, an interesting fact considering that the population tried to ease the stress caused by the war through leisure.
