From experiments involving Ca, Fe and N in low concentrations, we aim to confirm in this paper the theories put forward in our last paper, in which we studied with the help of computer simulations the theoretical behavior of digital filters commonly used in EELS analysis. The effect of digital filters (first and second difference) on the net signal, the signal-to-noise ratio and the signal-to-background ratio is studied. A new method for the correction of the channel-to-channel diode fluctuations in PEELS is also proposed.
