摘要
The characteristics of the digital filters commonly used in electron energy loss spectroscopy are established in order to better understand their ability to detect trace elements, characteristic peaks embedded in background, and noise. Improved filters are designed. First- and second-order derivative filters are compared. The idea of adaptive filters is suggested and its potential is demonstrated through several simulations.
