摘要
The methods of XPS [x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy], AES [auger electron spectroscopy], and electron microscopy are used to study the state of the copper and the compositions and morphologies of the surface of copper-containing catalysts of different structures and compositions at various stages of their preparation and use. It is shown that clusters of the type Cu(2-delta)+ ..Zn-delta+... O2- precede the active phase of oxide and framework catalysts. The role of the zinc consists of stabilizing the cluster structure. The active surface of the catalyst is formed during the conversion of CO with water vapor: Cu0 changes to the ionic, Cu+ form responsible for the catalytic activity.
