摘要：
Marked seasonal cycle with premonsoon and summer peaks were observed. Monsoon season showed low population density. Surface area and plasma volume of phytoplankton population revealed the importance of cell-size characteristics in quantitative analyses. Thirtyone species were identified as bloom-formers, with Rhizosolenia alata f. gracillima attaining a maximum bloom concentration of 2881 X 10(7) mum2.l-1.
