摘要
Boundary integral techniques appeared the most attractive option in the application of numerical methods to solve cathodic protection (CP) problems in a more accurate and efficient way. The paper describes the simulation of the impressed current CP system of a semisubmersible platform using a specially developed boundary element computer system called PROCAT. The underprotected areas developed by the deactivation of half the anodes can be seen (i.e., absolute value of φ lower than 0.8 V). In addition, further analyses with higher output current prescribed in the anodes have also confirmed the critical areas for local inspection where underprotection and possible overprotection can be identified in the pontoons.
