摘要
Nonionic hydrophobe-modified poly(oxyethylene) urethane (HEUR) associative thickeners have been designed possessing widely different but complementary viscosity-shear rate responses. Use of combinations of such thickeners provides excellent control of paint rheology without the need for additional cosolvents or surfactants in the formulation to obtain the desired high vs. low shear viscosity balance. Fundamental rheological characteristics of two such thickeners are presented, along with practical guidelines for their use in formulating latex paints.
