N-t-Boc-2-(tert-butyldimethylsiloxy)pyrrole has been synthesized from pyrrole and used to prepare enantiomerically pure pyrrolinones 5, 6, 15, and 16 and polyhydroxylated pyrrolidinones of type 11 and 12.
