RADIOCHEMICAL STUDY OF WATER SOLUBILITIES OF COBALT AND MANGANESE OXIDES

摘要：
Measurements have been made on the solubilities of CoO, Co3O4, and Mn2O3 in oxygenated water at 20-300-degrees-C. CoO and Mn2O3 have negative temperature coefficients of solubility, while Co3O4 has minimm solubility at 200-degrees-C. The oxides dissolve by ions entering the water in the lowest valency states. Thermodynamic calculations indicate the states of dissolved cobalt and manganese in the first loop in a boiling-water reactor.
