Early childhood education: the reversal of the dichotomy between public and private education

摘要
In this paper we consider the principle of coexistence of public and private schools, analyzing, from official data, in the municipality of Marau/RS no exclusive private schools kindergarten, because the public network, which currently with 12 institutions, can help children from different social classes, from six months to six years old. In this sense, the government fulfills its function, and as prescribed by Article 19 of the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB), the power to create or incorporate education institutions to meet social demands for a public education compulsory and free. The aim of this paper is therefore to demonstrate how effective this service in terms of physical infrastructure and human resources, proved with official data, the municipality intends to Marau meet all the demand for daycare and preschool within a year.
