摘要：
A new convenient synthesis of 2,2'-binaphthyl-1,4:1',4'-diquinones (5) by reductive dimerization of naphthoquinones (1) with sodium hydride or metallic sodium or potassium in high yields is described; the reaction mechanisms are discussed.
