摘要
The liquid phase oxidation of 2-ethylhexanal with oxygen in a flow system has been studied at 303.2-355.7 K. 2-Ethylhexanoic acid was found to be the main reaction product. As side-products: 3-heptyl formate, 3-heptanol, 3-heptanone, and heptane were detected. The influence of oxygen to reactant molar ratio and temperature on the reaction selectivity was investigated. The maximum yield of acid was 67.4% at a selectivity of 71.4%.
