摘要：

Lower pole kidney stones are one of the most common problems is urology practice. for this group of patients, shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) are established treatments with low morbidity and high efficancy. SWL has reiatively lower success rates for lower pole stones. on the other hand, RIRS has as high as 100% success rates for lower polke stones. with advance in technology and experience we belive RIRS may ne the first treatment option over SWL in the following years.
