SOCIAL DIVERSITY PROTECTION UNDER THE PERSPECTIVE OF ENVIRONMENTAL LAW

Over a long period ethnic groups or groups culturally differentiated underwent an exclusion process, being terminated, marginalized or simply absorbed by the national society without any recognition of their particular ways of living and acting. After opening the claiming spaces provided by democratic statement, the expression of different identities within the same national scene has become possible, thus leading to a significant transformation in the relationship between the state and minority social groups, based primarily on the constitutional recognition of the multicultural character of the composition of its population. Normative reading concerning the protection of the environment, before such a broad connotation, does not put aside the human aspects of environmental issues, rather defending it by ensuring a set of core values for human development, demonstrating the existence of an intimate and profound relationship of complementation between nature and culture.
