摘要：
This article proposes concepts for compatible improvements in picture quality, using the line numbers of present standards, by means of digital signal processing. Improved resolution through use of optimum pre- and postfiltering, the timeplex techniques of the MAC system, and the new FM channels with higher bandwidth are discussed.
