Experiences of Strike in the Brazilian Estado Novo

This article try to discuss the existence of experiences of strike in the Estado Novo. Using primary sources unpublished in the academic world, the objective is problematizes some authors claim the absence of strike movements in the period. In this way it seeks to demonstrate how the concept of strike experiences may have changed and not disappeared in the violent years of the Vargas dictatorship.
