摘要
This article aims to describe two A VILA experiments, a project by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in the development of environmental educational activities in two distinct settings: The Municipal School Tenente Antnio Joao and the NGO Olhar do Mangue. The experience in teaching mathematics, the methodologies and, specifically, the course planning and the theoretical framework adopted are highlighted. From this description, it is possible to see the potential role of environmental education in the process of learning mathematics in both formal and informal settings.
