摘要：
This piece is a foreword to the special issue 'The Space of Justice: Courtrooms, Innovation, Practice'. The foreword introduces themes of the special issue by reflecting on changes the author has observed since her original ground-breaking study in magistrates' courts in London in 1974. This piece was delivered as an address to the participants at the Space of Justice symposium in Melbourne in July 2017.
