JOINING OF ZIRCONIA TO METALS USING ZR-CU ALLOY

摘要
The contact angle of Zr-Cu alloys against partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) was measured by the sessile drop method. Every alloy was very wettable to PSZ. Joints of PSZ plates were obtained using Zr-47Cu alloy. At the joint interface, internal oxidation of zirconium and diffusion of copper occurred. The bending strength of the PSZ/carbon steel (SS41) joint was about 350 MPa.
