The development and strengthening of the academic profession through the teaching career at the National University of the Northwest of the Province of Buenos Aires

Developing and strengthening the academic profession through the teaching career at the National University of the North West of the Province of Buenos Aires. This paper presents the design of a system for the entry, continuance and promotion of human resources engaged in teaching at the National University of the North West of the Province of Buenos Aires. Managing human resources is considered to be a central issue for institutional development and a current deficit for newly created universities, which compete for resources against existing universities, thus deteriorating the system as a whole. UNNOBA is a newly created university and, therefore, a system to enter and promote university teaching careers becomes essential. Such system needs to be in compliance with regulations currently in place and aim at developing and strengthening the academic profession serving the strategic goals of the organization. Therefore, the growth of the academic profession should depend on the assessment carried out by the institution and its stakeholders in terms of quality of the service provided, understanding such quality as the achievement of organizational targets.
