摘要
The construction industry is one of the activities that contributes more to the development and growing of humanity. It is also a parameter that in many cases reflects the social economic condition of people. In Costa Rica this activity has been highly growing as a result of the increase in the tourism activity and the demand for more housing, industrial, and social facilities. In order for the construction industry to become a more sustainable activity, it is necessary to complement this growing with a better development and management of construction projects resulting in an optimization of the resources. Regarding the development of the construction project, there are several factors to take into account. These factors may contribute to the accomplishment of this goal. Technology, safety, quality, materials management, communication, human resources management, site layout, environment, and procurement are some of the factors that have to be considered to obtain a successful project.
