Allen-Masters Syndrome Detected at the Time of a Cesarean Delivery: A Case Report and a Review of the Literature

The Allen-Masters syndrome was first reported in 1955 by Allen and Masters, who described lacerations in the peritoneum and fascia of the broad and cardinal ligaments. The two researchers attributed their findings to traumatic deliveries since all of their patients were multiparous. The present article reports a case of Allen-Masters syndrome, reviewing the literature, in a primigravida with intermittent right-lower quadrant pain during gestation, and who was diagnosed at the time of her cesarean birth.
