ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND LEARNING STYLES OF STUDENTS IN PSYCHOLOGY

摘要
The purpouse of this research was to characterize and identify the relationship between learning styles and academic performance of undergraduate students in psychology at a public university in the municipality of Ecatepec, State of Mexico, Mexico. In order to identify the predominant learning styles of students, we used the Honey - Alonso Learning Styles Questionnaire (CHAEA), as well as academic history of each participant as evidence of their academic performance. The results suggest that the predominant style is reflective. In men, the pragmatic style predominates, while in women is reflective. In comparison per semester there were no significant differences in the reflective style [F (5, 221) = 2.33 p <= .042]. There is no significant correlation between learning styles and academic performance.
