THE HUMOR IN ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE: FORTY YEARS LATER

Based on Mijail Bajtin's carnival-like perspective, this essay shows how humor constitutes a non-enthroned ideology that inquires on society and customs. This characteristic is evident in One Hundred Years of Solitude, novel from which based upon various narrative modalities, the Colombian Nobel Prize winner, flings an ironic and simulated view about his characters and the world. Lack of rationality, non-conventional aspects and an unexpected irruption from one world to another, are, among other things, the most evident characteristics in this novel.
