Balint Group Process, Group Dynamic and Praxis

The Development of the small group "Balint Group" in separate steps within the context of global socio-economic regionally regulating influence on the doctor-patient-relationship is described. The group is a holistic organism undergoing a process analogous to the individual with early immature and moremature defence mechanisms depending on phases. Case selection and group structure correlate in a dialectic area of conflict but both are hierarchically modified by external influences. The way of looking at the group structure by the group management to the case history is helpful as it may work on the least resistance.
