摘要
Over the last 5 years, scientific visualization has found a multitude of new applications that confirm its necessity and power. Therefore, education in scientific visualization becomes important in all areas that use scientific visualization to gain a better understanding of their data (e.g., medicine, sciences, business, geosciences, computer science, and engineering) as well as in areas that are crucial to better understanding the concepts of scientific visualization or provide tools for its application (e.g., computer graphics, psychology, user interface design). This report discusses the results of a workshop group on ''An Agenda for Education in Scientific Visualization'' held during Visualization '92, and presents a survey on current visualization courses in the United States.
